
Siyuan (Bruce) JIN (金思远) is a PhD Candidate in HKUST Information Systems (IS), supervised by Prof. Kar Yan Tam. He received the China National Scholarship in 2020, the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS) award in 2024 and the Young Scientists Program Award in 2025. His papers have been accepted by top IS conferences, including the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST), and Statistical Challenges in Electronic Commerce Research (SCECR). His papers have been nominated for the 2024 ICIS Best Short Paper Award. He has contributed to several policy papers to Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).
Prior to HKUST, Bruce worked as a full-stack engineer at HSBC IT Architecture and HSBC Laboratory for two years. His work has been recognized through several accolades including the 2021 Top Performer award, the 2021 Role Model honor, and 2021 Global Central Bank Digital Currency Challenge finalist hosted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
